SCULPTOR | GERMANY
Born in 1990 in Berlin Ruth Unger has been studying sculpture at the HfBK Dresden at the class of Carl Emanuel Wolff as a master class student until 2021. Ruth Unger lives and works with her partner and both children in Leipzig, where they cofounded the SHOWER gallery in the west of the city.
As a contemporary sculptor Ruth Unger puts identity-poisoning images and surfaces of everyday life to the acid test. In doing so, she always points to the fragile core without exposing it. A delicate, playful balancing between constricting conformity and energetic outburst, bitter seriousness and light-footed humor form the basic tone in Unger‘s work.
